Two Things
I learned two things today.
1) I learned that a cloaca is the latin term for sewer. Oh, how we treat birds, reptiles, amphibians and monotremes.
2) I was called a scientist today. And I was ok with it. I’ve had, and still have, my moments of resisting a label. My favourite description to date is still by my friend E, who summarized me thusly: Politician, Scientist, Wedding Officiant, Club...

The ancient Greeks distinguished four different types of love: eros, philia, storge, and agape. Eros is the type of love celebrated today, Valentine’s day. Assuredly this form of love has its benefits and brings its joys, it’s also the type of love that most directly connects to our genetic urge to reproduce.
I am here to celebrate the other three.
